scienceOS is now running exclusively on Homo Sapiens 2.0 hardware
The parallels between tech and biology are endless.
And if you're anything like me, you might believe there isn't a parallel at all, but rather that they're one and the same.
Consider:
the mind and software
the body and hardware
the nervous system and electrical circuits
the muscles and robotic actuators
analog brain waves and digital logic gates
...you get the point.
Let's start with the mind.
Why does yours work the way it does?
Why do you consider some ideas more important than others?
What makes yours unique? Experiences?
Why did you opt for Captain Crunch this morning instead of bacon and eggs?
Maybe you consider yourself a blank slate [ Tabula rasa ]
Maybe you believe the mind is born with ideas, knowledge, and beliefs (and probably a lot of bloat-ware) [ Innatism ]
Maybe religion has heavily influenced your decisions [ Religion ]
Maybe you create your own values and live accordingly [ Existentialism ]
Or maybe you believe the Elohim alien species created humanity using advanced technology [ Raëlism ]
There's no shortage of (sometimes ridiculous) ideas that might offer an explanation as to why our minds work the way they do.
But let's put that aside for a moment.
You probably haven't thought about the Scientific Method since grade school, but let's revisit:
Problem / Observation - you observe something or ask a question
Hypothesis - you consider possible answers
Experiment - you test your hypothesis
Analysis - you consider if the test supports or refutes your hypothesis
Conclusion - if it supports your hypothesis, it might be the answer, if it doesn't, it might not be the answer
Communicate, Iterate, Peer Review - communicate the results to the community, iterate on your ideas, allow for feedback, and start again
Phew, what a throwback.
Now let's take those steps through the Software Development Life Cycle and bundle them in a nice little distribution called the Science Operating System or scienceOS.
Now, if you're ready, let's install it.
