Installation started! - The Importance of Installing a Bug-Free Operating System In Your Mind.
Your new personal operating system, scienceOS, will take about 3 minutes to install (about the time it takes to read this article).
It was developed over the course of several thousand years, and thanks to many open and closed-source contributors, continues to get better daily.
Its kernel is based on the widely-used concepts of formal logic and reason and is the best-known OS for navigating the world.
We're standing on the threshold of dramatic and exponential change in the world, and fortunately, scienceOS comes complete with a state-of-the-art navigation system to help guide us through both simple and complex challenges.
The installation package contains the following files:
Zeroth Principles Thinking
The process of identifying transformative insights and uncovering new ways of thinking
Identifies the building blocks, or the structure of all things, that were previously unthought of or unutilized
Bryan Johnson, pioneer of zeroth principles thinking, equates it to an autonomous vehicle that can adapt to its environment, instead of relying on a pre-installed unchangingÂ
map
First Principles Thinking
The process of creating a proposition or assumption that cannot be deduced from any other proposition or assumption
Forms the foundation of Epistemology, or the branch of philosophy concerned with knowledge (a priori, "because this, then that")
Using the autonomous vehicle analogy, a First-principles vehicle seeks to survey the world, identify information in a given timeframe, and drive to a pre-defined location
Second Principles Thinking:
The process of building on First Principles to achieve a goal or increase understanding
Usually answers the question, "and then what?" or "why?" It's not concerned with the building blocks or how propositions are defined, but rather the consequences of those decisions
Using the autonomous vehicle analogy, Second Principles might include wanting to travel more quickly or safely. Or understanding the lithium-ion technology impacts on the global economy. Or identifying how autonomous vehicles might alter our communities.
Remember, effects, not causes
Now that installation is almost complete, remember that these concepts, or this operating system, form the basis for installing those fancy new apps and using those shiny new features.
